Ok…..Iv bought this really cool @Brita product ”Fill&Go” as a prop to make my self drink more water this has all spered from seeing on the internet how much healthier people are feeling after dropping the fizzy drinks.
I have never been a slim person but I can never remember being really unhappy about my weight. Untill recently I wouldn’t weigh myself I didn’t want to know because I already new I was too heavy so why put a number to it, I now know my care free body image positive attitude was Me just avoiding the truth. My partner bought some bathroom scales for his own use after protesting I would never stand on it ever ever! The curiosity got the better of me one evening after my bath, the magic number jumped out at me and punched me in my jelly belly and made me feel sick. I spent the rest of the evening googling easy ways to be healthier and drinking more water was one one them that stuck out to me I drink a lot of fizz and often feel sluggish and tired and apparently that’s due to the constant sugar highs and lows and of course the extra gas making me bloated.
I’ll also be switching snacks like crisps and chocolate to fruits and veggies and putting less on my plate at meals times.
I’ll update you in a couple weeks to let you know how I feel 🙂
We all wake up some days and find ourselves feeling like we cant look in the mirror, for some this is a feeling that doesn’t go away. I have looked at myself in the mirror and seen many different versions of my self , some days fixated on how my stretch marks turn purple as soon as I step out of a hot bath or how my mono brow grows back so fast and other days grinning at my self to see my dimples appear and spending twenty minutes inspecting the hazel flecks in my green eyes but getting to a neutral place where you don’t feel the need to look for either the good or bad is hard work, and I too do still struggle with this but here are some of the things that have help make it easier when iv been feeling down about my self:
End it on a positive :
When ever I find my self consumed with negative opinions of my self I take each bad point that pops into my head and couple it with something that I like about my self for example i would say to my self; pimple on my chin but I have great hair or I really hate my bingo wings but this top looks really good on me. End your thought process with a positive and thats more than likely what you will remember, Its not easy but you can do it.
Look at it differently.
Dont approach the mirror with the intent to find negatives, look at it with the intent to boost your confidence, stick positive notes on the mirror read them one at a time a give your self a cheeky smile another thing iv found really good to do and its so simple, when im feeling particularly self conscious when i walk past my reflection I blow my self a little kiss with playfulness and non serious attitude boosts your mood for the day and improves self love because whether you blow your self a kiss or someone else shows you love it generates self love and a over all better out look on life.
if I feel like iv been treating my self poorly and im not feeling good in my skin I take a night usually when my other half is out and I have the house to my self I pour a glass of wine, run my self a bath apply my favorite face mask lay out my favorite PJ’s and my nicest smelling moisturizer. I soak in the tub with some feel good music on. Relaxing in my PJ’s i chuck a chick flick on and give my self a manicure and pedicure the next morning I instantly feel better about my self
1. appreciate what you have.
If you have a few pennies down the side of your sofa your already wealthier than most. instead of focusing on what you don’t have focus on what you DO have. practice being appreciative for what you have and it will prevent you from feeling jealous maybe write a list each day or even mentally take a minute to think of 5 things your grateful for and what positive effect they have on your life.
2. Accept what you cant change and change what you can.
Lets face it you cant control or change everything sometimes things happen that effect us negatively you cant control it so stop trying its only filling you with stress and anxiety and making little grey sprout from your head instead make a plan of what you can change and how you will change it. you might be able to loose weight and get a better job but you will never stop those 2 freckles from joining up on your nose in the summer. The impossible is impossible!
3. Behave better
Its the weekend are you Laying around on the sofa wearing your “House” clothes and need to wash your hair? you have had invites out to social events, your friends want to take salsa lessons or spin classes at the local gym but you cant really be bothered, your friends always come to you and can identify every pair of pajamas you own. WAKE UP! you’re in a rut. wash your hair! Get out there learn new skills, meet new people and you will feel better about your self.
4. You are your only competition.
There will always be someone more attractive with more money with a better job, envy isn’t a cure for how you feel stop looking at them and look at your self you can make your self more attractive maybe try out a new hairstyle or change your wardrobe and you can have more money and have a better job, make the necessary steps to achieve your dream job, clear out the house with the junk you don’t need and take it too a boot fair get creative make some jewelry or knit some jumpers there’s plenty of online platforms to generate a little cash from your hobby.
